John E Pressley forms his taxi and limousine business out of his wife, Lilly's Sweet Shop
Early 50s
1953
J.E Pressley coaches is formed quickly changed to Angela Coaches after the arrival of John and Lilly's fifth child Angela

1960s
Late 50s to early 60s
The company continues to expand in size purchasing 29, 33 and 44 seater coaches.
1968
The company acquires a 45 seater vehicle

Further the company begins to start offering short breaks to its customers. From the success of there first trip to Llandudno in North Wales. This was the advent of Angela Holidays.
1970s
1971
John E Pressley sadly passes away and his son Micheal J Pressley took the reins ready to steer the company through the years ahead.

Early 70s to late70s
Michael with the support of his wife Hazel, he successfully grew the business through out the 70s. At its peak the company was carrying over 35,000 passengers per year.
​
In the later half of the decade a fleet of Man SR820 are acquired enabling the company to begin offering continental coach trips.

1976
Angela Coaches proudly offers to provide coaches to Southampton FC for the FA cup Final at Wembley where they beat Manchester United 1-0.

1977
Angela Holidays brand is expanded, more exciting destinations are added resulting in more itineraries allowing the company to publish its first holiday brochure in 1980
​
Additionally Angela Coaches begins to offer an exclusive Vehicle for sole use of Southampton FC which continued untill 1987.

Robert J Pressley becomes a new recruit allowing Michael to take a backseat role.

The following year he steps forward into a managerial role.

1990
Oaktree house was built on the land in Portsmouth road. This serves as the headquarters for Angela Coaches and Angela Holidays.

Mid 90s
Robert becomes the managing director of Angela Coaches.
​
Michaels daughter Paula Roe begins to work full time at Angela Holidays helping to further the portfolio of destinations.

2010s
Paula becomes the managing director of Angela Holidays.

Angela Coaches celebrates 65 years in operation

Today
Fast forward to today Robert and Paula are still at the helm of Angela Coaches & Angela Holidays respectively. working with their teams of experienced and dedicated staff continue to flourish in the present day.

Angela Coaches boost a fleet of luxury vehicles including the Brand New Irizar I8 with additional vehicles being added in the near future.
​
Angela Holidays offer an exceptional range of holiday destinations across the UK and Europe including River cruises, day trips, seasonal breaks and much more.
