PCV/HGV Mechanic

We are looking for a qualified & suitably experienced PCV mechanic able to carry out vehicle fault diagnosis to repair to a medium fleet of VDL /MAN/IVECO/MERCEDES coaches, in our purpose built workshop.

​

Other duties likely to include are:

  • scheduled vehicle maintenance

  • unscheduled minor and major repairs

  • MOT preparations

  • completion of paperwork to DVSA standards

  • Breakdown assistance

  • Emergency out-of-hours assistance

  • Assistance in keeping up with H&S legislation

  • Any other reasonable tasks as deemed necessary

  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping record

  • You must be able to work independently and as part of a team

  • You must be able to work on all makes of vehicle

Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent as minimum and full driving licence essential and PCV licence would be preferable but not essential as raining will be given to the right candidate.

​

Private health care after probation period, protective wear including overalls and footwear provided. 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

  • Mechanic/fitting: 1 year (Required)

Education:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (Required)

​​

Licence:

  • PCV Licence (Preferred)

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £33,280.00 per year

​

  • Southampton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
